Description:
Cogswell & Harrison 12 gauge boxlock shotgun. “The Avant Tout”. London & Paris addresses on 27 1/2" barrels with extractors. 14” LOP DAC 1-½” DAH 2-¼” Straight grip stock with old, nicely done repair to wrist. See photos - it’s a sound and tight repair. “Arcus Steel” barrels. Nitro Proofed for 1-1/8” loads. Makers case included with trade label. The case is usable but needs rebuilding. A partially visible name on the case apparently is a prior owner’s name with his regiment number. It appears to read “Cap. Gurney, 204th Hussans.” Gun is sound, in very nice overall condition. I have fired the gun - it functions well and handles nicely. Both bores measure .733, chokes are .007 right and .034 left. Bores very good w/no pitting or rusting. There are a couple of tooling marks in the left barrel just ahead of the forcing cone. The bores are not brightly polished like a new gun, but are very clean. $65 shipping to your dealer. Shipping insurance is available at the buyer’s expense. The gun will be carefully wrapped, packed inside a new Plano plastic gun case, and in an exterior sleeve. The original maker's case, unless you decide you don't want it, will be shipped separately for $50. This gun is coming from an individual and will include a copy of my driver’s license for your dealer to log the gun in with. If your dealer insists on the gun coming from an FFL holder, add $65, as that’s what my local FFL charges to handle an outgoing transfer.
