Description:
This Mannlicher Schoenauer Model 1910 is chambered for the 9.5X57MM or as the British called it, .375 Nitro Express rimless. The metal surfaces on this nice British proofed takedown rifle retain about 97% Watson Brothers rust blue with the bolt rases honed bright. The bottom metal shows some wear and blue loss. The bolt retains the Watson Brothers quality rust blue with only light overall wear and remnants of one time light pitting, which is unobtrusive and missed at first glance. The checkered walnut capped pistolgrip takedown stock rates very fine to excellent and has been nicely fitted with a London guns style 1 inch rifle pad providing a 14 1/4 inch length of pull; it has a nice rounded left side cheekpiece and checkered pistolgrip cap. The are takes down as designed and functions well mechanically and was proofed in 1920. The gun weighs 6 pounds 7 ounces. The top of the barrel is marked "Watson Brothers 29 Old Bond St., London" and is British proofed above the chamber area.It has a bright, excellent bore. It features a simple silver blade front sight and a two leaf rear sight with one standing. on folding. A hansom and functional model 1910 takedown that would serve well on any North American game.
