Extremely scarce Brazilian-made copy of the Colt M1911A1, circa early 1970's, by Imbel of Brazil, very few in 9mmP, new with accessories in styrofoam box.
Standard configuration Colt M1911A1 made by Imbel of Brazil, finished with a hardened enamel of paint, just as used for the FN49 and a number of other military configuration weapons. This pistol has a fixed front sight and drift-adjustable rearsight. Left side of slide manufacturer marked with the Imbel logo. Full serial number on right side of slide and frame adjacent to the model designation "Pst 9M973", a reference to the 9mmP caliber. Serrated recoil spring housing. Sharply checkered black-plastic panels, each secured by two screws. Magazine with four indicator holes, grooved for the 9mm cartridge and fitted with removable floorplate. Included in the original and manufacturer marked styrofoam box is a spare magazine, cleaning rod, and an oversized bristle brush as most likely used for the more common .45 ACP. Complete with Spanish language instruction booklet.
Virtually new with just a small rub mark on the front of the slide and a few very tiny imperfections on the front strap. There is no sharp edge wear, spare magazine in the same immaculate condition. Styrofoam container, shipping sleeve not available, with expected staining from the oiled gun and scattered indentations as pictured. An extremely rare pistol in the United States, purportedly imported by Springfield Armory as a sales sample.
