UPDATED!!!! Very fine L.C. Smith Crown Grade 12ga gun made with 32", beavertail forend with banjo roll type release, Hunter One SST, and auto ejectors. Rare gun that is noted as the earliest known original Beavertail forend L.C. Smith by the LC Smith Collectors Association. The gun has exceptional wood with small Monte Carlo at butt and terminates with what is likely the original Hawkins Pad. Engraved in typical Crown Grade pattern with game scenes on sides and gold inlaid crown on top lever.
The gun remains in excellent original condition with 70% original case colors. The trigger guard and barrels retain most of an older professionally restored finish which is toning and aging and will become indescernible from original in time. The stocks are sound and retain most of their original finish with some minor finish added for preservation. The previous owner had the stock head glass bedded to make it more useful without concern for any cracking behind the locks, which so many L.C. Smiths are prone to. The mechanics are crisp and the bores are bright and shiny. L.C. Smith Collectors Association letter confirms this gun as found today.
