#256170, Al Biesen Gunmaker Spokane, Wn: A Total Custom by Al Biesen in 375 H&H on a Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 Action, The action was made in 1953, Al Biesen finished this rifle February 27, 1993 for a Mr. Robert Winn in Golden, Colorado, 23 1/2" Douglass Premium barrel, It has an integral and machined sling eye on the barrel, Island rear sight base with a folding sight, Front ramp with a large Gold bead, 1" long Pendleton muzzle brake, Talley scope bases, A 3-position Model 70 wing safety, Two panel teardrop bolt knob checkering, Model 70 trigger, Jeweled bolt and follower, Action rails inside and out are polished, Built-up & checkered bolt stop release, Profiled rear receiver tang with a blind guard screw, Blackburn straddle hinged floorplate with a center bow release; As always, a true Biesen Custom Classic style stock, Biesen classic full wrap around Fleur-De-Lis checkering with a fairly deep recess, Ebony forend tip, 2 screw rear sling eye, Biesen 2 screw checkered steel grip cap, Shadowline cheekpiece, 13 5/8" LOP over a Biesen trapdoor checkered steel buttplate, 13 5/8" LOP over a trapdoor hinged 7/8" recoil pad mounted on a steel plate; It has a release button at the toe of the stock and a steel hinge at the heel and it swings upward (Novel Stuff), Cut out under the trapdoor recoil pad for a jointed cleaning rod, 9 lbs. 7 oz., The bore is absolutely as new, An excellent Biesen Special Select piece of English Walnut with excellent dark color and black/brown contrast, The original Biesen satin blue remains at 99%, The original stock finish at 97% with very light handling marks, The checkering is at 100%, This piece is exactly like the day it left Spokane. In early 1993 Mr. Biesen shot a 5-shot 1 5/8" group at 100 yards using 80 grains of 4831 with a 300 grain Hornady. Mr. Al Biesen is the Norman Rockwell of custom bolt rifles in America and his merits are covered extensively in the pages of Jack O'Connor and the Gun Digest.
