Description:
20 inch octagon barrel chambered in the desirable 44 WCF caliber. The barrel has been lightly cleaned in some areas but strong original blue remains on the first half of the barrel and on most of the magazine tube. Bright excellent bore with good rifling. Sights include a Rocky Mountain rear and front. The receiver also has been lightly cleaned and is a gray patina. Steel carbine style buttplate has about 60-70% original blue. The straight grip walnut buttstock has been refinished with later added varnish displaying several handling marks. The barrel address has the "Marlin Fire-Arms Co." legend and the 1893 patent date and the tang has the Marlin inspection star. Crisp action with a good bore should make this a very handy little Marlin for hunting or at the range as well as Cowboy Action shooting.
