Description:
AUSTRIAN FLINTLOCK CAVALRY / LANCERS CARBINE CIRCA 1830'S. 30” o/a with 14 ½” smoothbore .69 cal. round barrel with Austrian proof marks on both sides of the barrel at the breech. Lock stamped “831” which may be a date stamp for 1831 and Austrian Ordnance proofed at the rear of the lock. Iron mounted with elongated sling ring bar mount. Very small size carbine for use by light cavalry and lancers. Very good overall with very nice metal with light grey original patina. Stock with the original finish. Ramrod missing. Working order and good bore. Scarce in original flintlock with many converted to percussion.
