Description:
Serial #10950, 25mm, 5 1/2" barrel with a very good bore that is dark and frosted for the last 3 ½ inches near the bell-mouth muzzle. This is a scarce, commercial proofed British No. 1 Mark III flare signal pistol marked SPRA for the Schermuly Pyrotechnic Rocket Association on the frame and commercial crown proofs on the barrel. The gun is in very good to excellent condition with a moderately dark patina on the brass showing splotchy patches of reddish-brown along with surface marks from use. The iron “stirrup" style catch, trigger, hammer, and lanyard loop show some light pitting and surface oxidation. The hardwood grips are excellent without any cracks and show light surface use marks.
