Description:
Fresh out of the woodwork, an all-original and un-molested fascist Italian Royal Army Beretta Model 1934 .380 ACP Pistol manufactured in 1942.  The Beretta Model 1934 was first designed and released commercially in 1934, but was not adopted into service with the Italian Army until 1937 as the standard issue sidearm.  A somewhat compact but robust pistol, the Model 1934 uses a simple and reliable blow-back operated semi-auto action.  The Model 1934 features a 3.7" inch barrel, all-steel construction, a left-side mounted thumb safety, metal-backed textured black plastic grips, a heel-mounted magazine release with a 7-round single-stack magazine, and is chambered in 9mm Corto(known here in the States as .380 ACP).  The well-made and handsome pistol quickly proved to be an excellent design with superb reliability and accuracy.  The Model 1934 remained in service throughout WW2 and beyond, with examples still in limited service in the Italian Military as recently as 1991!  This particular all-matching beauty is one of the last of the factory high-polish gloss blue guns made by the Italians during WW2, before the Germans took over production and went to a matte or parkerized finish.  This 1942-production Beretta Model 1934 is serial number 951840, and it remains is very good all-original condition both inside and out.  The factory gloss blue finish is beautiful, showing only some light finish wear, mainly on the grips straps.  All of the factory stampings are crisp and clear, including the Royal Italian Army acceptance stamp of a crown over "RE" at the left rear of the frame just below the hammer.  As you can see from the pictures, what little finish wear is visible on this pistol does not away from the handsome and clean overall look of the gun.  The bore is excellent, free from any pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections.   The rifling still looks like-new with sharp lands and grooves throughout.  The original grips on this pistol are beautiful, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage.  The grip panels' texture is still clean and nicely defined, and the "PB" Beretta logo is in excellent condition on both panels.  The action on this Model 1934 is smooth and precise, and the slide and barrel lock into battery perfectly.  All of the controls are in perfect working order, including the magazine release and safety.  We have no doubt that this Beretta Model 1934 will still function today 100% like the day it originally left the factory over 78 years ago.  If you have been looking for a neat all-original WW2 pistol to add to your collection as a long term investment that could also be enjoyed at the range, this Royal Italian Army Beretta Model 1934 would be an excellent choice.  This Beretta has never been on the collector's market before until now!
