Description:
The Steyr Hahn Model 1912 was developed as the Model 1911 but it was not accepted into service until 1914 as the model 1912. It was originally issued to the Austrian Landwehr while common army units were still issued Roth–Steyr M1907 handguns and Rast & Gasser M1898 revolvers. Orders were also placed by Chile and Romania prior to World War 1. This Model 1912 was originally produced for Romania as indicated by the Romanian crest on the right side of trigger guard. Typically this would also have a large crown on the left side of the slide, but this was removed when these pistols were captured during WW1 by the Austro-Hungarian Empire and pressed into service. This pistol is in excellent condition with over 90% original bluing. The bore is bright with sharp lands and grooves and still chambered for the original 9x23mm Steyr cartridge. Many of these were rechambered to 9x19 luger and used by the Austrians in World War 2. The action works smoothly and the lockup is nice and tight. It comes with an Austrian military style holster. If your looking to add a unique piece of military history to your collection this Model 1912 Steyr would be an excellent choice.
