The Colt Open Top Revolver (Old Line)was made from 1871 to 1877, with approximately 114,200 manufactured. The 7-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 2 3/8 or 2 7/8 inch barrel, with or without an integral ejector, varnished walnut grips, without top strap on frame, could be had with a variety of finishes, and were chambered in .22 Short or .22 Long R.F.. This gun is as described and is fitted with a 2 3/8 inch barrel, is full nickel plated , and chambered in .22 Long. It is in fine original condition, retaining 85% of its original nickel finish, with most loss due to flaking. The grips, which number to the gun, fit perfectly, retaining most all of its original finish, with no cracks or chips. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, but there are some areas of corrosion. The action works if cocked slowly. Comes with a very sound, period correct box, but unfortunately it does not number to the gun.
