***SOLD*** ~Marlin 336A .30-30 Win lever rifle, dated to 1949. The 336A was the improved version of the 36A, originally manufactured 1948-62, and was reintroduced from 1973-1980. This rifle is the 1st Model, which was made between 1948 and 1952. The rifle features smooth walnut furniture, with the original blue finish and a 24" barrel with a 2/3 length magazine tube. The rifle utilizes the classic 336 action mechanism, and also has a JM stamp on the barrel. The rifle is in excellent working condition and appears to have seen regular use over the decades, and was well cared for by its' previous owners. There are 8 tick marks on the left side of the forearm, traditionally documenting the number of deer that the rifle had a hand in harvesting. Typical finish wear in the receiver area shows the classic "carry marks" from its time in the woods. Some shrinkage can be seen on the wood of the stock, however it is still tight and is very stable. The action is smooth and the bore looks excellent. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the rifle. This is a truly wonderful example of a classic 336 rifle with tons of character, and its ready for the woods once again!
