Description:
Early, Standard American model c.1870-1872. Near full coverage foliate floral scroll, geometric patterns and eagles on left and right of the frame executed by an unknown engraver. Grip panels of natural material with eagle with shield carved on the right panel. Plating appears mostly tarnished gray with areas of bright nickle and a suggestion of gold wash in the cylinder flutes and protected areas. Mechanically functions, bore is rough but, shows strong rifling.
