Description:
Smith and Wesson No.1, 2nd Model American, circa 1872-74. Uneven, pewter gray remaining finish, embellished with high quality "New York" style foliate arabesque patterns by an unknown engraver. Heavily worn smooth wood grips, serial numbers stamped on the inside of the panels do not match the pistol. Functioning; there is some cylinder play at full cock but, indexes properly, ejectors work fine. Bore offers strong rifling yet, rough.
