Winchester Model 6A for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle.
Extremely fine condition, near mint. Rarely used, and works smoothly. No significant handling marks on the wood or metal. Slightest bit of wear visible at the muzzle. Buttplate is shown. It also has the late model 17 groved forearm as shown.
It handles all three lengths of .22 and has a 15 round tubular magazine. And of course, it is the classic take-down design. A fine example made in late 1957, 2 years before production ceased; made on Winchester Avenue in New Haven, Ct., where the giant Winchester factory building still stands. You can live in the factory now if that suits you!
Heres' a bit of historical information:
A notable date for the Winchester Model 62 occurs in 1940 when the bolt was changed and thus prompted Winchester to change the model to the Winchester Model 62A. Additionally, all prior model 62s had a slide pump forearm that was 5 3/4" long, at that point the newer models switched to 8" long. The grooves cut in the forearm also increased from 10 to 17. The Winchester 1890, 1906, 62, and 62A all used basically the same pump-action design and the 62A uses coil springs instead of flat springs like the earlier models.
In near mint condition with no dings, few to no handling marks on the stock, no discoloration or flaking on the receiver.
A Safe Queen that needs a new home as the son is grown and no one is using this. In fact, he only shot it once at that, about 30 years ago.
