Description:
The Winchester Model 1906 was introduced as an economical version of the Model 1890, and came with a 20” round barrel. This pump action rifle was produced from 1906 until the end of production in 1936. Winchester produced three variations of the 1906. The first variation was .22 Short-only with a plain straight-grip stock, a flat plain butt and plate, and had a smooth forearm pump handle. The Second variation was the Standard Model 1906 which differed by being able to shoot interchangeably .22 short, .22 long or .22 long-rifle, and by having a grooved forearm. The third variation was a more deluxe variety, called the "Model 1906 Expert". This model differed by being made with upgrades like a pistol-grip stock and a fluted smooth pump grip. This Model 1906 is the second variation and was produced in the final year of production, 1936. It is in very good condition with a nice patina and wear, while still retaining 80% of the original bluing. The stock shows typical wear but is in good condition overall with a consitant wear to the rest of the rifle and does not have any cracks or ships present. The action is smooth and works flawlessly. The bore is bright with a sharp visible rifling. If you have been looking for a classic .22 rifle for a a collection or a vintage rifle to use at the range. This classic Winchester Model 1906 would be an excellent choice.
