Description:
For your viewing is a very early Colt 1873 US Army revolver serial  No. 36XX made in 1874. Revolver is very well used and has had the barrel shortend to 5 1/2” with a slot ground into the top of the barrel to re-set the front sight. What is very interesting is that this revolver has the AINSWORTH  A  and P initial for the inspection for the US military on the barrel in front of cylinder rod, and a A under the hammer at top of back strap. even though this revolver has been very much used, historical value is of utmost importance of this  revolver. I have had the revolver inspected by several individuals who are very highly regarded collectors, and they say it is all original.  What i can tell from the current owner who is 75, iit had belonged to her father who worked  ranches all over Nevada in the early part of the last century.

email or call me for more info etc.  thanks for looking
