Description:
An ORIGINAL, ANTIQUE, IMPROVED ORDER of the RED MEN FRATERNAL SOCIETY COSTUME, or a Wild West Indian costume. It was made by Louis C. Stilz & Bros. Co., Philadelphia. It is all original and in very good condition, for its age with obvious use. The beadwork panels would have been done by Iroquoise Indians. This came from a collection out of Montana. The Improved Order of the Red Men was established in 1834.

COLOR: green velvet body with gold velvet beadwork panels

DIMENSIONS: Jacket across chest 23" Sleeves 24" long Overall Length 38" Trousers Inseam 28" Waist 33" but adjustable with laced up side seams

CONDITION: Beadwork is Excellent - Wear to the velvet nap in many places, especially trousers - Some discoloration of fabric with wear to some ribbon trim edges and high points - Some suede leather fringe missing, especially the right collar front edge - One belt loop has come loose at one end (fixable)”
