For sale is a pre-owned Garbi 103A Special with prestige engraving chambered in 28 gauge (2 ¾ in) with 29” barrel and fixed chokes IC/M. Comes in an Americase hard case.
In the world of Best Guns there a but a few names, and Armas Garbi is among the Spanish family of fine guns. Hailing from Eibar, Spain, Garbi arms are known for quality and workmanship on double guns. Here we have an excellent example in this sub-gauge side by side shotgun.
This is a 7-pin sidelock ejector game gun chambered in 28 gauge. This wing-shooting wand would be at home on the hedgerow or the sporting clays field with its 29” barrel choked improved cylinder in the right and modified in the left. The barrels feature a solid cross-checkered rib for reduced glare and a brass bead. It sports a well figured straight English stock with unused oval and splinter fore-end. The stock, fore-end, and butt are finished with hand checkering. The fore-end has a classic Anson release button.
Tipping the scales at 6lbs, it balances just in front of the hinge pin lending itself to a smooth swing. The receiver is coin finished with ornamental scroll engraving with matching fore-end inletting and iron. An equally adorned manual safety is mounted on the tang. Double triggers allow instant choice of choke and the articulated front trigger provides room for gloved hands in rough weather. The wood to metal fit is flawless, the bluing is 99%. There are just a few diminuitive handling marks on the wood.
In all, the fit and finish of this double is extraordinary and will demand attention wherever it goes.
