SN 108248. (1930-31) Cal. 9X57. 23″ round bbl with 1000yd tangent rear sight.
“WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER * OBERNDORF A/N” on action wall.
Caliber designation “9X57” is on bbl shank. Commercial Mauser action with usual 'B' 'U' 'G' proofs of the era.
Excellent bore.
Bolt retains classic pear-shaped commercial knob, and flag safety.
Bottom metal, fitted with single trigger, has hinged floorplate retained by European style lever release.
Typical TypeB stocking of quarter sawn European walnut. Wood has seen some refinishing. Steel capped pistol grip stock measures 14-1/4″ over a Mauser banner monogrammed horn buttplate.
Standard checkering is at grip only.
One good dent in the stock (right side of magazine) and the butt sling eyelet looks to be a TypeA style. Some filler(?) under the butt plate.
An all numbers matching, honest, entry grade Oberndorf TypeB.
