1954 SMITH & WESSON PRE MODEL 27 H.E. (HAND EJECTOR) .357 MAGNUM BLUE 6 1/2" 5-SCREW N FRAME REVOLVER. Serial number "S163XXX" and all matching including cylinder, barrel, and crane but with replaced period S&W checkered target grips(grips in the range but other #). 97% of the original factory brilliant blue with balance on cylinder and muzzle area. Original case colors on trigger and factory .500 wide target hammer still. Five screw N frame (they deleted the fifth screw later in the year). Finely checkered top strap and rib crisp as day it was applied. All markings crisp. Mint bore, rifling and chambers. Functions perfectly as it should from this period and locks up tight. After 1957 it was referred to as the Model 27.
