Great Collector's Gun
Springfield, model 1873 Trapdoor rife in 45-70 caliber. Serial number 486595. Built in 1890, this rifle has a 33" barrel with a fair bore. The rifle retains 80% of the original blue finish. The stock appears to have been refinished at some time as no inspectors stamps or cartoches are visible. Overall good condition with a leather sling. The sling is a modern reproduction and in good condition. Forend of barrel has some dings and has the most bluing loss. Forend of the stock has the most wear. There is a small fracture in the stock at the rear end of the hammer plate, right side.
This rifle was appraised by the Guns International appraiser. The above description was provided by him. He provided a $950 retail value from that appraisal. Make me an offer.
