Savage model 99R in 300 Savage.Built in 1954,this rifle is in excellent all original condition.It retains 98% of the original blue finish,98% of the original wood finish,and 70% of the original case colors on the lever.The 99R was Savage's designated "heavy rifle".It has a longer and wider forend and stock and a 24" medium weight barrel. The bore is mint and the barrel retains the original sights.Other features include a lever safety,factory drilled and tapped for a scope and tang sight,jeweled bolt,hand cut checkered stock and forarm,cocking indicator,steel buttplate,cartridge counter,and factory installed sling studs.This is a classic 99 in original condition with several modern features that make it a better hunting rifle.C&R eligible.
