ORIGINAL CIVIL WAR TOWER ENFIELD PATTERN 1858 PERCUSSION RIFLE MUSKET DATED 1862. 40” rifled .577 caliber barrel with original front and rear sights and British Export proofs at the left breech. Lock stamped “TOWER/1862” with Victoria Royal Cypher. All original early Civil War dated and all original including the ramrod. Very handsome looking untouched “attic” dark patina overall. Stock with moderate worn patina and old initials “NH” inscribed on the side panel. Very probable Confederate used example with many thousands purchased by them during the war particularly those with early war dates. Working order with dark bore but visible rifling. Extra nice. And all original to the last screw.
