Description:
* Springfield U.S. 65 Gauge Model 1855 with 12" round Barrel. Only made 4000 of these from 1855-1857. Could be used as carbine on the ground or pistol on horseback.Some of these were used in the civil war by the Confederates. 1855 Tang, and 1856 Lock dates. Good condition with some mild pitting, replaced rear sight long ago, primer door might be replaced, has several dots on top of the barrel (kills?). some small dents on barrel with overall moderate wear. The pistol stock has general scrapes and dings, stock mount compression marks, with a few thin cracks. The Nice reproduction shoulder stock is Fine with mild wear including some artificial aging. Mechanically fine. Great Piece!
