Description:
From 1885 until 1890 there were approximately 232,000 Springfield 1884's manufactured. This gun remains in very good overall condition showing only a few light use marks in wood with a very old piece of masking tape on left butt. Wood is solid and has visible cartouche marks. Metal has a dark patina with some very light oxidation on barrel and rust on bottom tang. Bore is very good but could use a good cleaning. Circle "P" cartouche on bottom of buttstock, "SWP" on left stock. "V", "P" and "Eagle" on left side of barrel. The armory mark on right buttstock is "268" and "US M30" on top of buttplate. .45-70
