Description:
Serial #13069, .450 CF, 5 3/4" octagonal barrel with a fine, bright bore that has traces of mild freckling within the grooves. This revolver retains traces of the original blue finish, with the balance having a mottled gray patina that has some splotchy freckling along the barrel. The Adams commercial markings are crisp and clear on the right side, but no company markings are present on the topstrap and barrel. The left side of the frame has crisp “(Broad Arrow) / WD / III" military markings, with a “3.79" acceptance date (struck out when the gun was released for commercial sale). The checkered walnut grip is in good plus condition without any cracks or chips, but there is moderate flattening of the points, and small handling marks throughout. The mechanism is fully functional, and the revolver rates about very good condition overall. This is a nice example of a Zulu and Afghan Wars era Adams revolver, and has lots of original finish remaining. Antique.
