PRE-WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 OR M-1 GARAND .30-06 RIFLE CIRCA NOVEMBER 1938 . Original early Gas Trap serial numbered in the 5,xxx range converted to gas cylinder and rebuilt for the Korean War with 1953 dated barrel. Missing the operating rod and magazine assembly. Good to very good with all U.S. parts. Metal with much of the original Parkerizing with wear. Lightly cleaned wood with wear and minor dings. Good bore with moderate dark frosting but good rifling. Should clean up better. Rare early low 4 digit serial Gas Trap production era.
