Description:
This Colt was produced around 1918-19. The serial number on the pistol grip bottom strap is 115232. It has the standard 5 1/2 inch barrel. The pistol is chambered for the standard 45 A.C.P. cartridge using the half moon clips. The bore is bright with sharp lands. Under the barrel is stamped United States Property. This pistol has the late war time finish. This original finish would rate a 96% overall condition. The smooth wood grips would rate the same condition. This Colt shows very little sign of being used or shot. The chambers are bright and free of pitting or burn marks on the cylinder face. The action locks up tight with no play. This Colt shows no sign of abuse or rough play. This pistol comes with a 1918 datedbelt, Holster dated 1918 and a ammunition pouch also dated 1918. The lanyard has the patent date of 1917. The belt is in fine serviceable condition with no damage or tears. The holster is in fine serviceable condition with no brittlness or cracking. The leather is supple and flexable. The Cavalry style holster is stamped on the back G.& K. 1918 with the A.G. inspector stamp. This fine ammunition pouch is by R.H.Long 6-18. The ammunition is by Remington UMC dated 18 The pouch holds three sets of loads for the revolver. Each section carries two half moon clips with each half moon clip loaded with three 45 A.C.P. shells. All 18 shells are the same and dated 1918. It is very difficult to find today complete pistol rigs for the 1917 revolvers. This is a very fine complete service rig that would look great in any military collection! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
