This Smith & Wesson was produced in 1918. The pistol's serial number is 52827. It has the 5 1/2 inch barrel that is stamped on the bottom United States Property. The bore is in minty condition. The chambers are bright with no pitting or burn marks on the cylinder face. This near new pistol has 99% of it's original commercial quality bluing intact. The smooth wood grips are in near new condition. This pistol has seen very little use or being shot. The hold open plunger is intact to keep the cylinder from bouncing around when reloading. This pistol locks up tight with no play. The color cased hammer and trigger have vivid color. The screws have no burring or deformed heads from improper use of a screw driver. This is a really stunning Smith & Wesson! Included with this pistol is a original military Cavalry style holster in almost unissued condition. The back of the holster is marked G.& K. 1917 with the inspector stamp A.G.. The leather is supple with no dry spots. There is no cracking or stiching separation. This is an as issued complete holster! The ammunition pouch is by Wharton Mfg Co. 1918. This ammunition carrier is in unissued condition. It carries 18 rounds of 45 A.C.P. in half moon clips. The clips carry three shells each. Each pouch has a full load for the revolver. The shells are by The United States Cartridge Co. And dated 1918. All the shells are the same. These items go very nicely with this pistol as all of these items are in unissued condition! This would make a great display for any collection! Search for hlvfine guns on google for more details.
