This Colt was produced in 1963. The pistol's serial number is 37978 SA. It has the correct "BB" barrel with the serial number. The 12 inch barrel serial number is BB 3327. This pistol is chambered for the 45 Long Colt. This Colt is in new condition with all matched serial numbers. This Colt has the original hard rubber grips that are serial numbered to this pistol. Most of these Buntline models had the wood grips installed as standard. This pistol is one of the few with the hard rubber grips as installed. The box label also mentions rubber stocks as installed with this pistol. This pistol has no markings as to being cocked. The frame has really bright vivid color cased finish! The coloring is really very strong and pleasing to the eye. There is no blue loss with this Colt. This gun is as new as it came from Colt's! The original box is in good condition with the top cover mostly pulled from the hinge. Other than that the box is sound. It has the original cleaning brush intact. This Colt also comes with the original instruction papers, warranty and shooting instructions. These early second generation Colts with the Buntline "BB" barrels are not commonly seen today. This Colt also has the distinction of being the last year of the black boxes. The following year the Stage Coach Box came out.
