This Colt was produced in 1909. The pistol's serial number is 3907. This Colt is in original condition with no alterations. It is chambered for the 45 rimless cartridge. We know that cartridge as the 45 A.C.P. now. The barrel retains almost all of the original bluing. The rifling is sharp and bright. The grooves show light pitting between the rifling. There is no spots of rust or pitting on this pistol at all. The slide retains about 94% of it's original bluing. The frame retains 96% of the original bluing. The nitre blued parts retain almost all of that stunning finish. The hammer shows most of the color cased finish. The original magazine is in fine condition with no damage or cracks. The grips are in fine condition with sharp checkering. This Colt still has the early style hammer that was starting to be phased out around 1908. This Colt still has the bronze firing pin intact. The action works smoothly with a nice crisp trigger release. This is a very fine condition pistol that saw limited production. There were only around 6100 of these model 1905's produced. Most 1905's saw hard use and wear. This Colt is one of the far finer pistols to survive today! This model Colt has the distinction of being the first Colt to use the famous 45 A.C.P. cartridge!
