Description:
Up for sale is a classic model Mark V made in Germany Weatherby 240 Magnum. It is in PRISTINE condition. No dents, scratches, chips , marks or rust from top to bottom. Never restored just all out in absolute excellent condition. The letter "P" on serial number indicates that the gun was manufactured in Germany and I called Weatherby to get an invoice date and they couldn't pin point the date but another 240 mag with 5 numbers later with a serial number ending in "8" was identified as to be invoiced on March 3rd 1970. The Weatherby assistant on phone told me that my gun was probably invoiced within a week prior to the the one he had info on.

So after careful inspection of my Weatherby Mark V I noticed that there was a slight issue with the trigger and it's performance. The firing pin would release upon closing and locking bolt in and fire pin would fire as if I pulled the trigger. I called Weatherby service hotline and was told to take it to the Weatherby Authorized service Center by the name WHMC Guns in Humbolt, TN.   Thier gunsmith inspected and advised me that becuase of the age of the gun the trigger housing after so many years would disentigrate. There he found a small hair line crack in on trigger housing on the right side above the trigger and we decided to replace the trigger with a "Timney " German Mark V trigger. The other option was to use a Weatherby brand that would have required them to have to mill the barrel to conform to the updated trigger and I preferred the original factory specs from that era. So now it has brand new action installed and is in absolute perfect order. I will included the old broken trigger which I kept for the gun as it is part of it's history as well. Gun was inspected and test fired by the gun smith. His name is Frank, who has been there for over 30 years as a master gunsmith, and you may call them for your convenience to inquire any more info on services performed.

Scope is a Mueller "Eraticator" Series. 8.5-25x50 with IGR/ AO and red dot in crosshair.

Add $50.00 for shipping and handling please.

PLEASE>>>>> NO TRADES. I appreciate the idea and many nice guns I may miss a deal on, but I need to thin out my gun vault as I have to make room for what I have....Thanks....Dave
