Description:
I have for sale a very nice Winchester Model 21 in the great 20 gauge serial number 5885. This is the rather rare Trap/Skeet model and so marked on the bottom of the receiver. This model was only built between the years of 1933-39 so finding a nice one is rather exciting. This particular gun has 26 inch barrels and is choked WS1 and WS2. The right barrel has a bore size of .614 and a choke constriction of .005 and the left barrel measures .614 as well at the bore and .010 in choke constriction just as it left the factory. Chambers are 2 3/4 inches. Featuring a straight English Stock with dimensions of 1 1/2 inches at comb, 2 inches at heel and a length of pull of 14 inches to the checkered butt. Cast is neutral so it will work for either right or left hand shooter. Wood as you can see in the pictures is very nice with great grain in the butt. Forend is beavertail. Trigger is single selective and ejectors are strong and well timed. This gun was completely and beautifully restored by Bryndon Steele who specializes in model 21's. The barrel and receiver finish is correct and beautifully done. The stock is the exact Winchester color and the gun is tight on face with top lever right of center. If all of this isn't enough just pick this gun up and the first thing you will notice is the weight. This gun comes in at a mere 6 pounds 4 ounces making it the lightest 21 I've ever owned. Most 21's in 20 gauge are much heavier, some weighing close to 7 pounds. This low weight and open chokes makes this gun a perfect upland Quail, Grouse, or Woodcock gun.
