Cased Set of 2 Antique EUROPEAN FLINTLOCK Pistols SPENCER of LONDON Liege
London & Liege Pistols
Here we present a pair of antique Flintlock Pistols, one by Spencer of London and the other in Liege. These little self-defense pistols would have been most at home in the pocket of anyone in the busy cities of London and Liege during the late-18th and early-19th Centuries. These pistols are small, light, and simple.
The Spencer is made of iron and features a turn-off barrel that is 3 inches in length. .48 caliber. There are London proof marks (crowned “V” and “P”) under the breech. The Liege made pistol has a fixed octagonal barrel that is one with the frame. Cannon muzzle profile. .42 caliber. Made entirely of brass. It bears Liege proof marks. They come in a nice, glass-topped case.
The overall condition is very good on each. Functioning actions. Smooth bores. Solid wooden grips.
