Fellow enthusiast please allow me to present this fine Beretta 686 Cole Special 32 inch Sporter which bears Serial # RC 0483. As we all know the 680 series receiver was a revolutionary design of virtually unprecedented value and durability. Not only was it graceful and good looking, it was easily maintained with only reasonable care and if really shot hard and heavy just an occassional visit to a Beretta gunsmith could set them right again. All that being said the 680 series action is going to simply be one of the BEST EVER over under shotgun actions ever conceived. But alas Beretta is winding it down since the 680 series still require a bit more talented hand work in its manufacturing than newer offerings. Rich Cole essentially cut his teeth on these actions. Through this long standing professional relationship with Beretta Mr. Cole was able to specify this limited run to include the best of the very best features we all appreciated in the 680 receiver. The "Cole Special" 12ga 680 series is back but now better than ever! In effect, this is a reintroduction of the best features of the venerable 682 but enhanced by the reintroduction of hand-fitted replaceable recoil shoulders to assure long life and the 682 style adjustable length of pull trigger. The receiver has an almost Colt Python deep blue finish. The barrels are the new Optima Bore High Performance type in 32” with vented side ribs, and 10x7mm tapered vented top rib. But wait until you see the wood. The stock and forend are made from wood blanks personally hand selected by Rich Cole and are shaped in the original 682 1 1/2" x 2 3/8" Sporting configuration with right hand palm swell. These stocks also feature a german silver initial stock oval inletted into the toe line of the stock.
