Description:
This is a quality well made Confederate Sword, Possibly Haiman or Conning...Original Scabbard with Brass Throat, hangers rings and drag. Brazed lap seam... Scabbard has much of it's original finish. Also has a rare feature of Confederate scabbards, it has fingers in the Throat to stabbalize the blade. Hangers are a greater distance apart than what you normally see on scabbard the lower hanger being almost midway down scabbard. Blade may have been etched midway down blade is what appears to be a dove with ribbon in mouth and a Star in an oval on it's back. {photo 2} also where blade meets guard what appears to be a small P. over S ( Photo 5 } ? . Guard is tight 95% of leather present has disdictive bent grip and single brass wire present show's wear. The guard has damage (Battle) to it with fracture as seen ...( Photo 4) Pommel cap stamped 50 as well as guard is stamped 50. Guard is tight know movement .... 35 3/4 inch blade 41 1/2 inches overall..PHOTO'S DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE......NOTE ...
