Winchester 1897 U.S. Trench Gun 12 Gauge shotgun. WWII Winchester Model 97 Trench Gun. The 20” cylinder choke barrel has an excellent bore. The metal has approximately 95% blue with light storage freckling on the right side of the receiver. Wood is fine with no cracks or chips. The butt stock has the correct boxed “G.H.D.” cartouche over the small ordnance stamp. The receiver has the “U.S.” with ordnance bomb on the left side. The barrel has the ordnance correctly stamped just forward of the Winchester proof mark. It is equipped with a correct 4-hole heat shield/bayonet adapter. The front swivel is a well-done replacement. The action functions correctly. This is a great example of the Model 97 Trench Gun from WWII. Don’t miss it!
