The Inter Ordnance AKM has a mil-spec stamped steel receiver that is based on Polish AK-47 blueprints. It is equipped with a Soviet style side rail scope mount for attaching optics, which also allows the shooter to maintain use of their iron sights. Chambered in the famous 7.62X39mm and featuring a 16.25" chrome-moly 4140 steel barrel is considerably more accurate than standard com-bloc surplus. Inter Ordnance increased the length of pull of the synthetic stock to a standard "NATO' length for a more solid shoulder mount. An extended synthetic finger groove pistol grip provides improved control and handling. The handguards are also synthetic for a more precise fit. The rifle weighs in at 7 pounds and includes 1 30-round magazine. All steel parts wear a mil-spec manganese phosphate finish, including the barrel. The hooded post front sight is paired with a notched rear tangent sight graduated from 100 to 1,000 meters.
