This Springfield Armory Model of U.S. 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Cavalry Carbine is a single shot breech loading rifle in .45-70 Gov't. Cal. It has a 22 inch barrel. A hooded front blade sight and a folding adjustable ladder middle sight. The butt stock is a smooth walnut straight grip with a grip adaptor. The forearm is a smooth grip walnut with a barrel band. It has a left side saddle ring. The butt stock storage compartment contains a cleaning rod. .45-70 Government
