Whitney-Laidley Style I Rolling Block .44 RF caliber rifle. Overall length is approximately 50½". The 35" round barrel has an excellent bore. The barrel has a smooth brown patina. The receiver has a smooth bright finish with a few use dents. The serial number is 20,267. The stocks are very good with some use dents and wood loss at the ramrod channel. The action functions correctly. This military rifle is unusual, as the great majority were centerfire. The .44 Rimfire is not listed in our references. These military rifles are scarce as most went to Central and South America.
