Some Perazzi over/under target guns are simply tools...little in the way of engraving and rather plain wood. They break clay targets, but sometimes you want a gun that pleases your eye and breaks targets better than most. You can have both --- a most efficient tool AND the finest example of the gunmaker's art with highly figured wood and deep chiseled hand engraved receiver and barrels. This fine Perazzi Mirage Sporter (which is the same gun as the MX8 with with the drop-out trigger group) is the latter. Set up as a sporting clays and skeet gun with 11 screw-in chokes and Kolar Ultra-light sub-gauge tube set (20, 28, .410 full length tubes), sn83606 was built in 1991 and later seriously upgraded with extravagant deep relief vine and floral engraving, shaded background, gold wire inlays, pierced top lever…even the breech of the barrels are highly ornate. This work was completed by WORLD RENOWNED BILL MAINS, FAMOUS FOR HIS DEEP RELIEF ENGRAVING, and factory engraver for Colt and Ithaca among other gunmakers. Read his attached obituary for some of his accomplishments. LOOK AT HIS WORK ON THIS GUN…IT SPEAKS LOUDLY OF HIS TALENT. The custom wood is the work of Jack Dockwiller, famous for his high-grade wood carvings and masterful gun stocks on target guns. AGAIN, THE CARVED BORDERS, CHECKERING, WOOD FIGURE, AND OVERALL WORKMANSHIP SPEAKS LOUDLY OF HIS TALENT. The 29 ½” barrels have a rib that tapers from 11mm at the breech to 7mm at the muzzle, bores are mirror clean, and there are no dents or dings with 100% blue. The drop out trigger group has flat main springs and there is an extra set of springs and firing pins. This gun has a 30-day shooting warranty. Perazzi is the accepted leader in the target gun world, with incredible durability and more Olympic and International awards than any other gun maker. The value of this gun will increase over time, as the cost of new Perazzi guns continues to rise. Please realize you could not duplicate the stock work and engraving for less than $15,000, the Kolar tubes are over $1500, and a new Perazzi MX8 starts at $13,000. This is an “as new” gun for less than ½ the cost of new! We have priced this set to sell so don’t miss out, and engraver Bill Mains has passed from this earth and his work is highly sought after, so you can’t have another made. Thanks for looking!
