Description:
These pistols were made c1880-1911. This has a 10 inch barrel and is marked with two lines "J. Stevens A&T Co./ Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A. Pat SEPT 6, 1864" Serial number is 17XX. These guns were popular for shooting with BB caps in Saloons. It has been said that Wild Bill carried one around for that purpose. Nickel is 98%+ and the firing pin is bushed. The action has some minor play and the checkered Walnut grips show some dings. The bore is good with some oxidation through-out. All numbers match.
A nice example of an early target pistol.
