Description:
The Remington Model 700 is one of the most famous, and most popular bolt action rifles ever made, so much so that it is still in production 55 years after its introduction! In that same year (1962), the 7mm Remington Magnum was introduced. It would be an understatement to say that Remington hit a couple home runs when they introduced the 700 and 7mm Magnum. Their rifle was found to be very suited to long range shooting as was the cartridge. It can be argued that the 7mm Remington Magnum was the first 28-caliber cartridge to achieve true popularity in the United States. It is particularly well suited for use against elk and similar sized game with heavy bullets but can be used for coyote at extreme distances with lighter bullets. It has also been used as a sniper round on various occasions by police departments. The Model 700 rifle has been used all over the world by hunters, military snipers, police, and match target shooters. The Model 700 BDL Deluxe was built for mid-to-long range shooting. It has a 24”, tapering barrel which helps keep the rifle’s overall weight down allowing for easy trekking over long distances with it. Mounted on the rifle is a nice Bushnell Banner 4-12x40mm scope. The rifle is in good condition for its age (46 years). It retains most if not all of the original bluing. The stock has the most wear with some minor scratches and a few dings, the latter of which can likely be steamed out as they are not very deep. The scope also exhibits minor surface wear. The bore is in superb condition with some minor copper fouling present. As with any magnum-chambered Remington 700, magazine capacity is 3 rounds. The Remington 700 is one the best rifles on the market, and the 7mm Remington Magnum is one of the most versatile cartridges out there. If you are looking for a good long-range shooter this 700 is a fine choice.
