Description: General Specs: Browning, Year 1964, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 5oz, Chokes Skeet/Skeet, LOP 14 3/8", DAH 2 1/4", DAC 1 7/16" Serial Number: 31885V4 This is the venerable Browning Superposed Lightning Model in Grade 1 from the most desirable period of manufacture with the ROUND KNOB STOCK AND LONG TANG TRIGGER GUARD IN 99% PLUS FACTORY ORIGINAL CONDITION! As you compare this gun to others, keep in mind that the most desirable Superposed guns are the long tang, round knob guns built before 1966. And as with all lovers of fine firearms, the Browning guys really pay attention to UNALTERED GUNS IN NEAR MINT FACTORY CONDITION. This Superposed, sn31885 v4 built in 1964 is just such a gun. With 26 ½” barrels choked Skeet/Skeet, she is the perfect grouse, woodcock, and quail gun, as well as other upland birds behind dogs. The Lightning Model was considerably lighter than the Standard model, making it a superb upland bird gun for carrying long distance and long hours. This 6lb. 5oz. gun is all factory original and still retains about 99% overall condition with the metal closer to 100%, and the original length stock with factory horn butt plate. Comes in a Browning branded case. Guns built after 1966 were prone to salt contamination and rust because of the manner in which Browning cured their wood. Not all guns were affected, but the market still has an aversion to the later guns with short tangs, and some even with square knob pistol grips. This is a great upland gun that is balanced to perfection and light enough to carry all day afield. The value of these earlier Superposed guns continues to climb, so you can invest in this gun and enjoy its use as it gains value. Thanks for looking!
