This is a beautiful all-original Mauser Model 201 Luxus .22 caliber rifle, manufactured in 1991 as a deluxe version of the standard Model 201. The Model 201 Luxus bolt-action repeater is a scaled-down version of the Mauser Oberndorf's Model K-15, and uses an unusual action that incorporates two front-located locking lugs on the bolt that engage Stellite inserts in the front of the receiver. It features a gloss-blue factory finish, a 21" inch free-floated barrel with no iron sights, a factory adjustable trigger, a 5 or 10-shot detachable box magazine, a two-position receiver mounted safety, a grooved receiver for optics, and a European Walnut pistol-grip stock with a cheekpiece. The Model 201 Luxus quickly earned a reputation for excellent fit and finish, reliability, and supreme accuracy. This particular example remains in excellent condition inside and out. The factory gloss blue finish is excellent, rating 98% with only a few tiny handling/storage marks. The bore in the 21" inch barrel is mirror-bright and pristine, with sharp rifling and no visible imperfections. The stock is also in excellent condition, showing only some very minor handling/storage marks if you look closely, and free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents. The Rosewood forend tip is perfectly attached to the Walnut and the cheekpiece on the buttstock is perfectly placed for shooting with optics. The checkered panels are still crisp and clean, and the factory sling swivel studs and black recoil pad are in excellent condition. The length of pull on this rifle is 14" inches to the end of the pad. The action on this .22 caliber Mauser 201 Luxus is smooth, slick, and precise. The bolt turns into battery perfectly with no grit or slop. The trigger is exceptional, breaking with a light pull with no excessive travel or take-up. All of the controls on this rifle are in perfect working order and it comes with two factory magazines, one 5-round mag and one 10-round mag (both in excellent condition). This Mauser 201 Luxus comes complete with a set of Leupold bases and 1" inch rings already mounted up, all it needs is a quality scope and it is ready for the range or field. If you have been looking for a classy, accurate, and unique .22 caliber rifle, this Mauser Model 201 Luxus would be an excellent choice. Not only will this rifle perform at the highest level at the range but should perform very well as a long-term investment as well.
