Description:
An amazing example of one of the most desirable and sought after of all Model 70 chamberings, the scarce 257 Roberts! S/N 172*** with matching bolt made in 1950. 98% Blue over most with barrel rated slightly less. 98% Varnish. The wood is gorgeous on this rifle with nice warm color, slight grain pattern and golden highlights. You can see this underlying color in the mostly raw barrel channel. Just beautiful. The barrel is 24" with a perfect looking bore. I don't think it has seen much actual use at all judging by the near blue bolt face and muzzle crown showing virtually no wear. All mechanical functions are smooth and working properly as well. Everything is very clean inside and fits perfectly. I really like this one!
