Update: Had a very nice gentleman from West Virginia -- who is an avid shotgunner, inform me that this Grulla is actually one of their highest grade guns. He explained to me that the model should read as a 219 or a 219-P. The P would be the designation for having the Purdey style engraving. He also explained all of the finishing work that went into the gun, including the internals of the sidelocks. To purchase such a shotgun new today would be incredibly expensive.
26” barrels with perfect bores, choked IC/IC+. Solid rib. Exceptional full figure gorgeous wood, (photos do not do it justice). Straight grip with the long trigger guard tang. Checkered butt. Beaver tail forearm wood with push button release. True 7 pin sidelocks with gold cocking indicators. Fine detailed rose scroll engraving. Gold plated articulated double triggers, ejectors, bushed firing pins. Right barrel tube marked “Dakin Gun Company, San Francisco, California” just above the chamber, the left tube is marked “Union Armeria, SL Eibar, Made in Spain”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “Dakin Gun Company”. This is a very fine gun and perfect for upland bird hunting. Light enough that you can carry it all day without becoming fatigued. LOP is 14.25", DAC is 1.5" and DAH is 2.25". Choke constriction on the right barrel measures at .005, and the left barrel measures at .008 . 2 ¾” chambers. For those who are in the know, this gun has the stork proof stamped on the water table. Did I mention that it has truly lovely wood…
