Description:
Sold to the United States Marine Corps for issue to Force Recon and MARSOC. An incredibly rare opportunity to own the last 1911 pistol to be issued to the USMC. The early run of the M45A1 contract was returned to Colt to be swapped out with an updated ionbond finish, approximately 1000 of these rare pistols were made available to the civilian market. This example is completely unissued and new in the box (approximately half were issued and returned to Colt very used and abused). Upon returning these to Colt they agreed to “X” out the USMC logo to indicate they were decommissioned. Includes generic Colt letter originally shipped with the pistol, as well as an updated letter direct from Colt with matching serial number listed, Lanyard & a set of issued replacement recoil springs unopened in military packaging. A once in a lifetime opportunity to own a documented piece of COLT and United States Marine Corps history!
