Description:
This is one of the very last of the "Pre-70 Series" .45 Government Models with a stunning factory nickel finish. The "Pre-70 Series" pistols, manufactured early in 1970, ran from serial number 332500-C through 336169-C. A short pilot run of the so called "BB Series" pistols were scattered throughout the range. The "Mk IV/Series 70" pistols were released in July of 1970 and are identified by the "70G" serial numbers. The slide and frame flats on this example are brilliant, while the matte finish on top the slide and bottom of the frame are exceptional. Looking closely it's hard to find any detractions and the overall finish rates a strong 99% with no sign of a take down mark. The gun appears to have been seldom fired. Also included is the original box numbered to the gun with the manual. Supposedly less than 1% of all Pre-70 Series Government models were produced in nickel, making this is a very desirable collector package. You'd be hard pressed to find a finer example at any price.
